ABOUT ME

Even as a child, I could lose myself for hours in my own little projects. Back then as a building block architect, today with lines of code, servers, frameworks and design tools. Creativity was never just a hobby for me. It's my drive, my tool and my common thread through life.

As a freelance Creative Developer, I bring not only technical know-how but also a sense for design. Beyond mutual respect, honesty and transparency, shared values are especially important to me in collaboration. If you do what you do out of passion, we'll likely find plenty of common ground. If, however, you're into questionable marketing methods like FOMO marketing, fear-mongering, artificial scarcity or clickbait, or an avid buzzword surfer, we probably won't be a match – which is perfectly fine.

To avoid losing focus in everyday life (and to counteract the job-related "nerd neck"), I discovered martial arts a few years ago. It brings energy and a good dose of grounding to my everyday life.

I also regularly invest time in continuing education. Whether it's new backend technologies, frontend frameworks or design trends – ultimately it always feels like I'm simply discovering new building blocks.

I'm usually accompanied by my most loyal and only employee: my dog Sly. So when I'm not at my desk, you'll most likely find me on walks with him (or at my laptop working on some "side project" that will probably never be finished, but that's a different topic ;-)).

Career

I discovered my passion for programming during my – let's say – moderately successful electrical engineering studies at the University of Karlsruhe. After the basic studies, I reoriented myself and switched to an apprenticeship as an IT specialist for application development.

At a media agency in Karlsruhe, I not only gained knowledge in frontend development during my apprenticeship, but was also quickly given responsibility in the areas of web design and project management. I enjoyed it so much that I became self-employed shortly after starting my apprenticeship to be able to manage my own projects on weekends. My focus back then was mainly on the conception, implementation and maintenance of websites and online shops.

After successfully completing my apprenticeship, I took on the role of Head of Development at the agency and built up a new five-person development team. At the same time, however, my own projects became increasingly demanding, so I first switched to part-time and some time later took the step into full self-employment.

Since then, I've been working as a freelance Fullstack Developer and Designer. I accompany all kinds of web projects: sometimes pure frontend, sometimes backend, sometimes design – and often all of it together. Depending on the project, I work with other great freelancers in a team or implement the projects independently.

At the end of 2024, I then left the home office and – together with my employee Sly – moved into my first own office in Karlsruhe.
